I was reading, as usual, and in a paragraph of a book written by Madsen Pirie, I found a parallel about a topic I consider very important, and on which I have already written two articles, Not for sell but nore then that 

A wrong model.

Topic is the abuse of the idea of the Hero against the Team approach.

Reading the Madsen Pirie book, I have seen the parallel in how many, many companies build up their teams, collecting heroes, that are absolutely not able to play with other teams members.

I have seen this happening more frequent  in US companies, but not only, anyhow I want just report the section written by Madsen.

 

The fallacy of composition occurs when it is claimed that what is true for individual members of a class is also true for the class considered as a unit.

Some nouns can be taken to refer either to the thing as a whole or to the various parts which make it up.

It is fallacious to suppose that what is true of the parts must also be true of the new entity which they collectively make up.


"This must be a good orchestra because each of its members is a talented

musician."

(Each individual might be excellent but totally unable to play in unison with colleagues. All of these virtuosos might be far too busy trying to excel personally to play as an effective team.)

 

Many a football manager has similarly transferred in many first-class players, only to find himself transferred out. Unless they can work as a team, it is easier to get the manager out of the ground than the ball into the net.

 

"I have gathered into one regiment all of the strongest men in the army.
This will be my strongest regiment."
(I doubt it. The strength of a regiment depends on such factors as its morale and its teamwork, not to mention its speed, its ability to operate with minimal supplies, and similar attributes.)

 

Let me say (Marco here), that is exactly what we see happening in some companies, were instead of having benefit, teams are consumed by this people which are so selfish and isolated to be only a disruptive elements.
Not all the heroes are like that, in fact is the model that is wrong not the people, real heroes are able to be modest and interact with everyone, not pretending but offering.
The ones that pretend to be the best and are not able to accept criticism, the ones that do not share, do not interact. Are nothing else then garbage.

 

The fallacy arises from a failure to recognize that the group is a distinct entity of which things can be said which do not apply to individual persons.
Evidence advanced to attest to the qualities of the members is therefore irrelevant to an appraisal of the group.
Americans are particularly vulnerable to this fallacy because their grammar makes no distinction between the collective entity and the individuals within it.
It seems to be universal in the American language to use singular verbs for collective nouns, regardless of whether the members or the group are being referred to. 
In English we would say 'the crew is a good one', referring to it as a separate entity, but 'the crew are tired', if we are speaking of its members.
In American one uses the singular verb in both cases, losing an important distinction.

Comunque, vi allego un articolo che reputo di una semplicità così evidente che anche mio figlio di 10 anni ha capito leggendo, parlo sul serio.
Io sto leggendo in continuazione sia articoli e studi italiani, molti purtroppo pilotati dalla classe di potere internazionale, che articoli Esteri, spesso affetti da simile malattia. Le voci che portano fatti, dati e che sono consistenti con quello che realmente sta succedendo, dicono tutte la stessa cosa.

 

La situazione di crisi e' stata generata volutamente, dal potere economico internazionale, che usa gli stati come serbatoi di risorse e consumo, e sfrutta l'ignoranza dei cittadini per spostare a piacimento valore (attenzione non denaro) e potere.
L'effetto per gli stati e per il popolo e' devastante, non c'è un modo di mitigare la distruzione se non uscire dalla stanza delle torture. La nostra classe politica, come quella nel resto dell'Europa e' li con un solo mandato, tenere il punto, tenere il popolo fermo, non farli muovere sino a quando non farà' più differenza.

 

Una mia amica tempo fa andò in Cina, prima che la Cina fosse così evidentemente al centro del potere di mercato mondiale, e... Una volta tornata mi disse che quello che aveva visto la spaventava, perché come imprenditrice, le regole di mercato li vengono sconvolte.

 

Questa settimana si legge, su varie riviste internazionali del superamento della Cina come partner commerciale mondiale, rispetto agli USA, io dico solo, connettete i punti.
La 3 guerra mondiale e' in corso ormai da diversi anni, ed i morti si contano già a migliaia, dove sono i corpi? Girate la testa e guardatevi intorno, e ne vedrete talmente tanti, che vi stupirete di essere ancora in piedi.

Per favore usate il cervello, e non abbiate paura, come diceva qualcuno, molto ma molto più saggio di me.

  • Believe in one God coming from One religion, instead I think we are part of it/him/her.
  • Trust money, money should be a tool to prevent going around with a cow to get what you want.
  • Trust banks, I give them my money but if I go there and ask for it they don't have it. Why?
  • Believe in friends, it is sad but seems to me that find a friend is like finding the pot at the end of the rainbow, mostly supposed friend just take advantage of you.
  • See any way out for my country, I would prefer to have a civil war then this slow unstoppable decline, I will be ready to come back and fight, but this is ... the slow death of a dead country.
  • Trust news papers, 99% are bullshits, whatever country you live in newspapers now are just the speakers of the power.
  • Think we are all equal, we are not, be different is good, the ones try to convince all of us about that are the ones that like to take advantage of you.
  • think being different means be better or worse, or good and bad, instead just different.
  • See how someone can trust the partner (or him/her/self) to exclude any possible external sex relation, relax and do it.
  • See why we should be scare of sex, sex is fun, sex is a good way to make experience, sex is better then a cinema show or a day at work, damn do it!
  • Think we should have parents 60 years old with newborn, is a matter of clock... when 20 - 80 are you going where with your daughter/son?
  • Like the people, in general.
  • Trust any government, instead I think that we should be so mature to drive our self, in respect of each other, with small circuit of interaction.
  • Like consumerism, and the model attach to it, ask more from the insight not from the outside, but this is a lost discussion today.
  • Think we are in the age of the Aquarius, unfortunately we are still in the era of the sharks.
  • Love can move mountains, but it can do much more then money.
  • Dream enough, not anymore, may be this is a sign of the age... when you have lost your last dream, it is time to die, sounds good enough for me.
  • Spend enough time with my family.
  • Show all my love to my kids as I should.
  • Get why we should pay for time and not for results, pay for the first do not imply I will get the second.
  • Trust doctors(med), well this is well known they are just mechanics that believe to be god, or something close to.
  • Close my eyes, or mind, and at any Earth revolution I still wonder how it could be possible we are so stupid.
  • Disagree with the statement that human being is a virus, or at least we act as such.
  • Know at what point in time we have lost the right path.
  • Like Mexican food.
  • Like to work with products, but on solutions cross products.
  • Like to work in the morning, my brain start-up after 3PM.
  • Like the ones that want to be your friend at work, 99% are double-dealers.
  • Like big corporation, on in particular.
  • Know why people get jobs without reading the job description, and then complain about their job, damn you stay at home!
  • Know why north Americans do not understand sarcasm, they loose 50% of what is happening around them.
  • Drink to get drunk, but because I want to enjoy what I drink, and I drink until I can enjoy it.
  • Discuss at all with people unless I give them credit.
  • Talk about philosophy or religion anymore, anyone think to have enough understanding about that, also if they have no idea of what they are talking about.
  • Have met the Dalai Lama yet... but I would really love to.
  • Read enough books, need more time to read and write.
  • Want to sell my time any longer.
